Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Without Surgery
Post-Gender Affirming Surgery Recovery
After vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, metoidioplasty, top surgery, or hysterectomy
Pelvic floor physical therapy can play a vital role in healing after gender-affirming bottom surgery. Whether you’re recovering from vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, or hysterectomy, therapy can help with scar mobility, pain, urinary issues, and returning to sexual or functional movement without fear.
Common concerns I treat include:
-
pain or tightness after vaginoplasty
-
scar tissue or discomfort after phalloplasty or metoidioplasty
-
bladder or bowel issues after bottom surgery
-
painful dilation or insertion after vaginoplasty
-
incontinence after hysterectomy or prostate removal
Treatment is collaborative and paced to your comfort. I use gentle, trauma-informed techniques to help you feel safe, supported, and more at ease in your body.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Without Surgery
Binding, tucking, hormone changes, pain with sex or dilation
You don’t have to have had surgery to benefit from pelvic floor therapy. Many trans and nonbinary people experience pelvic pain, tightness, or bladder/bowel challenges related to binding, tucking, chronic tension, or hormone therapy.
You may benefit from care if you:
-
experience pelvic pain during tucking or binding
-
feel tension or pain with orgasm or penetration
-
have difficulty with dilation or insertion
-
experience urinary urgency or bowel dysfunction
-
carry chronic tension from gender dysphoria, trauma, or bracing patterns
I offer an affirming space where your anatomy and identity are respected, and your goals shape your care.
