Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Without Surgery

Trauma Informed Care

Post-Gender Affirming Surgery Recovery

After vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, metoidioplasty, top surgery, or hysterectomy

Pelvic floor physical therapy can play a vital role in healing after gender-affirming bottom surgery. Whether you’re recovering from vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, or hysterectomy, therapy can help with scar mobility, pain, urinary issues, and returning to sexual or functional movement without fear.

Common concerns I treat include:

  • pain or tightness after vaginoplasty

  • scar tissue or discomfort after phalloplasty or metoidioplasty

  • bladder or bowel issues after bottom surgery

  • painful dilation or insertion after vaginoplasty

  • incontinence after hysterectomy or prostate removal

Treatment is collaborative and paced to your comfort. I use gentle, trauma-informed techniques to help you feel safe, supported, and more at ease in your body.

ScarWork and Fascia Therapy

After phalloplasty, hysteretomy, vaginoplasty, metoidioplasty, or top surgery

Surgical scars aren't just cosmetic. Fascia — the connective tissue that wraps your muscles, organs, and skin — runs in continuous lines throughout the body, so a scar in one area can pull on tissue well beyond the incision site. This includes internal adhesions that form between organs after surgeries like hysterectomy, which aren't visible on the skin but can still restrict movement and comfort. Left untreated, these restrictions can cause tightness, numbness, and pain that show up far from where the scar actually is.

Common concerns I treat include:

  • swelling, pain, tension, numbness, and restricted movement around phalloplasty donor sites

  • tight or painful scars after vaginoplasty or metoidioplasty

  • chest and arm tightness or less mobility after top surgery

  • pain in the pelvic floor, pelvis, low back, and abdomen, bladder, and GI system after hysterectomy

I'm trained in ScarWork and organ mobility techniques (visceral mobilization): gentle, hands-on approaches that help scar tissue integrate and move more freely. So healing continues below the surface, not just at the incision line.

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Without Surgery

Binding, tucking, hormone changes, pain with sex or dilation

You don’t have to have had surgery to benefit from pelvic floor therapy. Many trans and nonbinary people experience pelvic pain, tightness, or bladder/bowel challenges related to binding, tucking, chronic tension, or hormone therapy.

You may benefit from care if you:

  • experience pelvic pain during tucking or binding

  • feel tension or pain with orgasm or penetration

  • have difficulty with dilation or insertion

  • experience urinary urgency or bowel dysfunction

  • carry chronic tension from gender dysphoria, trauma, or bracing patterns

I offer an affirming space where your anatomy and identity are respected, and your goals shape your care.

Trauma-Informed & Collaborative Care

Honoring your life, your story, and your body

Pelvic floor physical therapy can feel vulnerable. That’s why I prioritize safety, collaboration, and consent — every step of the way.

What you can expect:

  • You are always in control of what we do (and don’t do)

  • I use trauma-informed physical therapy techniques

  • Language is inclusive, respectful, and tailored to you

  • Exams and treatments are fully explained and optional

Whether you’re working on healing, exploring intimacy, or just want to feel more at home in your body, this care is for you.
